Jay P. Summerall has been an innovator and driving force in the campus card market for more than a decade. Prior to founding CardSmith, he was Chief Operating Officer of Student Advantage, Inc., and directed the development and growth of SA Cash – the first outsourced off-campus merchant solution for card programs - and managed the company's other major education markets businesses.
Prior to joining Student Advantage, he was General Manager of AT&T's College and University Solutions unit, overseeing the company's core consumer communications and card services for students and institutions. He developed and executed AT&T’s company-wide campus card strategy from 1995-1999. Mr. Summerall began his AT&T career with AT&T Universal Card Services, a credit and calling card issuing subsidiary that won the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award in its third year of operations and became the largest issuer of MasterCards in the US.
